Ford’s 2014 C-MAX Hybrid has been recognised for its ability to protect by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, who named the car as a Top Safety Pick.
The C-MAX people carrier was put through multiple crash tests including side crash, roof strength, restraint and seating evaluations, and came out with a “good” rating across these areas.
Contributing to the award are a number of standard active and passive safety features which help the driver to avoid accidents and protect should one occur. MyKey®, AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control and SOS Post Crash Alert System™ are all fitted at no extra cost, as are side impact airbags, a safety canopy system and a tyre pressure monitoring system. There’s also a rear-view camera, reverse and forward sensing systems, active park assist and rain-sensing wipers to aid the driver.
“Ford takes the safety of our customers very seriously,” commented Steve Kenner, global director of Ford Automotive Safety Office. “We are proud [the] C-MAX Hybrid has achieved a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.”
Safety is one reason why so many family motorists choose the C-MAX Hybrid, and it excels in many other areas also. Both five and seven-seater models are offered, and the car boasts best-in-class passenger volume so all passengers can travel in comfort. There’s also exclusive features you wont find with any rival MPV, including SmartGauge® with EcoGuide, integrated blind spot mirrors, Active Grille Shutters, dual-zone automatic temperature control and Easy Fuel® capless fuel filler.
