RMB’s Christmas Shopping Tips

With only two weekends left to do your Christmas shopping, you’re either going to be facing a trip to the high street or doing your shopping online. Here are some helpful RMB tips for wise shopping this festive season.

shopping-list1. It pays to be prepared

Write a list of everyone you need to buy a gift for and think about what they’d like. This will save you the discomfort of having to traipse around the shops in search of the perfect gift when you have no idea what to buy.

2. Count the pennies

Hopefully the list you made will give you a rough idea of how much you’ll be spending in total, but if not take a close look at your finances and decide on the total amount you can realistically afford to spend. This help you avoid a dreaded credit card bill in January.

3. The internet is a great tool

Shopping has come a long way the last 15 years, you can order online before 10pm and have it delivered to your door the very next day. If there’s something you want which has sold out in a particular store, do a quick search on Google and you’ll be surprised to find it may be available on a competitor’s site that you hadn’t considered checking.

4. Is it really a deal?

3 for 2, buy one get one half price, free gift over a certain spend, Christmas is overrun with “exclusive” deals but it’s worthwhile spending a minute making sure you’re getting exactly what you need. That’s not to say there’s not some great deals out there because there is, you just have to be wise about what you actually need and not tempted by the store’s                                                                                                                         marketing efforts.

wrapping-up-paper5. Wrap as you go

Avoid having a pile of presents to wrap by doing them as and when you buy them. This should also ensure you don’t run out of wrapping paper at the last minute, saving you from having to make a frantic dash to the shops.
